The Hailey Public Library shares the J.C. Fox building with the Hailey
City Office and Police Department. Originally built by Dr. Earl William
Fox in 1920, it housed a saloon, the First National Bank of Hailey
and a jewelry store on the first floor. The second floor housed a
ten room hospital which continued into the 1960s.
In 1977 Atkinsons' Market moved into the first floor for about a year before building their current Hailey location. The Odd Fellows Hall and the State Theater were at one time located within the building.
